I had the pleasure of being one of the artists for the Patsy Boswell Memorial Hospice Art Show! Rosemont Winery is a perfect setting for this. The artwork was amazing, the fellow artists were so nice, excellent food, great turn out - a good time was had by all!!!

I'm so excited! I've been asked to do another solo art show. This time at The Prizery in South Boston - just 25 miles from Clarksville! It won't be until Nov/Dec of 2015, but this gives me plenty of time to spend some quality time creating new artwork. The town is having their Harvest Festival this weekend, so I will begin with photos and paintings of it! And I have a whole bunch of photos I've saved this last year of flowers that I want to paint. I have a couple of new books I've recently purchased teaching some new techniques that I can apply as well. I love watercolors - always so many opportunities to learn and grow!
I'm tickled and honored to be the featured guest artist in an art show at the Rosemont Vineyards and Winery. The show will be on display (and items are all for sale) through November. The art is hanging throughout the winery - including upstairs! The winery itself is fabulous - we enjoyed their wine at the Clarksville Wine Festival and again at the 6th Annual Arts and Wine Festival at Rosemont. Click here to go to their website to find out more them. Here are some photos of both the winery and the current art exhibit. They are open Mon-Sat 11 am to 6 pm; and Sundays 1-6. Have some wine, take their tour, enjoy the art show, and treat yourself to a lovely adventure!! I'm so tickled to have a show at this incredible place! Show runs through July, possibly August, too. For more info about the museum, please click here to visit their website. Today's featured artist was Kenneth Mulwee. His abstract artwork was full of textures, color variations, and fabulous designs that kept you engaged in each painting. I enjoyed his work very much and hope to see him get the fame and recognition he deserves! Here are some photos of his show, and a couple sneak peaks of the gardens. Can't wait til they are in full Spring attire - I'll be back for photos to create lots more paintings for my upcoming show in September. Located in the Fairfax Coffee House - 23 Fairfax Street - Berkeley Springs, WV. This exhibit will be open from 10/25/2013 - 12/31/2013. "Meet The Artist Reception" will be held Saturday, November 2nd 6-8 pm. Regular hours Mon-Thur 8-3:30; Fri-Sun 8-5. Come enjoy the show, have some specialty coffees and order from delightful breakfast and lunch menu, then spend some time strolling through the lovely certified arts community of Berkeley Springs and all that it has to offer! Shop til you drop or have a more laid back adventure with the luxury spas. Treat yourself to a very special day!!! ![]() “Blowing Off Steam” FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Andrea Burke, Watercolorist Phone: 304-261-8517 Email: artistburke@gmail.com October 25-December 31, 2013 “Art Show and Sale” Fairfax Coffee House 23 Fairfax Street Berkeley Springs, WV 25411 Watercolorist, Andrea Burke will have a solo art show featuring steam engine trains from Durbin, WV; Strasburg, PA; and Scranton, PA. My soul aches for it!!!! My first solo art show is just around the corner - delivering artwork to the Fairfax Coffee House in Berkeley Springs on 10/24/13 and then coming back up for "Meet the Artist Reception" on Saturday, November 2nd! I'll be sending out postcards in the mail, invitations on email, and posting on Facebook in a couple of weeks! I'm very excited and so grateful for the opportunity! Went to town today for "Harvest Days" and got some great photos of local scenes to begin painting - I can't wait!!! ![]() I had such a lovely time at this event. Talked to many fine people who are proud to support the arts in any way that they can. Quite a dedicated following from Old Opera House fans and it's wonderful to see. I sold one painting, which I'm thrilled about - the highest compliment an artist receives is when someone is willing to buy it! Had fun hanging out with my art buddies - Patricia Perry, Mary Jo Bennett, Earl Mills and Sue Brown. Steve Brewer, Managing/Artistic Director does such a fabulous job putting together all events for the Old Opera House. He has such a passion for the arts AND for promoting Charles Town. I was proud to be a part of this lovely event!!! I had the privilege to be one of the Judges for the Painting/Mixed Media category with Anna Hogbin and Kat Cimaglio. The Awards Ceremony was held 5/6/2013 at the Holiday Inn. An estimated 1,000 students, parents, teachers, and sponsors attended! The artwork (in all forms) was amazing. And the "Best of Show" was a video by Matthew Keanu (Jefferson HS) with an antimated stick man - it was great!!! Students came from high schools in all 3 counties of the Eastern Panhandle of WV. Kudos to Vicki Jenkins, Director of James Rumsey Technical Institute and Peggy Talley, Chair of the VIZZI Committee (along with the many, many people who helped make this event possible)! Click here for more information about the VIZZI program. The Jefferson County Photography Project is a group of photographers photographing the people, places, landscapes and events of Jefferson County. The uniqueness of this project is that the photographers are shooting only in black and white film, and all photographs in the exhibition are silver prints made in the traditional chemical based darkroom.
The project, designed and directed by local photographer Benita Keller, is in keeping with the masters of fine art photography, such as Alfred Stieglitz, Henri Cartier-Bresson and Robert Frank. The photographers goal is to utilize their personal artistic interpretation of their subject matter. The artists include: Heidi Geraci, Amanda Hamlin-Lewis, Krista Healey-Schaefer, Stephen Schaefer, Carl Schultz, Sue Silver, Kristian Thacker, Deborah Westphal, and Benita Keller, director. The project has been funded for three years by The Arts and Humanities Alliance of Jefferson County (AHA!) and the West Virginia Commission of the Arts. In 2012 "The Jefferson County Photography Project" produced a limited edition book of the photographs. The book will be available for sale at the exhibition. I believe a good time was had by all! For more information about the show, click here! Beautiful show "What Delights The Eye" was held in spite of the sad news that one of the 3 awesome women participating in the show died unexpectantly earlier this week. Her family graciously brought in her artwork so she could still be part of the show. Amy George will be sorely missed by all of us at the gallery as well as the multitudes of people her love touched. Here are some photos of our exhibit being held in the War Memorial Building - downtown Shepherdstown, WV! We are open today 9am - 8pm and tomorrow 9am - 6pm. Come meet all the artists at our reception today 3pm - 5pm! It's a wonderful show and amazing variety! Shop local for Christmas! :-)
So excited to be a part of this show! This is the first time I've entered, and it sold! Yay!!! I'll play again at the next show in the Spring!!! Perfect setting for an art display - fabulous surroundings, many, many talented artists!!! Beautiful artwork, fabulous food, overflowing glasses, excellent music, and lots of folks dressed in the Roaring Twenties Theme. I can honestly say a good time was had by all!

![]() Burwell-Morgan Mill I submitted 5 paintings for the juried process to get into this show! Crossing all appendages - it's such a perfect place for an artshow and really hoping to get in. (October 6-21st) I didn't submit this for the show, but if I get in, I will give this to them to use as they wish - if they want! More of Karlyn Holman's style and it's such fun to do! Click here to see the winning paintings of this awesome show. Interesting - some I totally understand, others I just don't get, but that's Art!! :-)
