"Native American Dancer" What an incredible class!!! I totally LOVE her style of painting and choice of colors. And she gives so freely of herself with helpful tips on every aspect of being an artist! I can't wait to take some photos - thinking Civil War Reenactments; maybe Williamsburg??? Costumes make for so much more of a story! I'm going to enjoy watching Laurie get the recognition she deserves - nationally and internationally! She's the best!!!

Ah, this is the last of the paintings I wanted to do for the upcoming Potomac River Artists' Guild! These are also using Karlyn Holman's style. I'm declaring it Karlyn Holman week! Hope to meet her some day - it's really fun using her free style and so different than my norm!
"You Are My Sunshine" This was a very fun painting to do using Karlyn Holman's techniques. The Washington Street Artists’ Cooperative, Bridge Gallery, and the Shepherdstown Friday Painters will host an exhibit and art sale at the Bridge Gallery, 8566 Shepherdstown Pike, in Shepherdstown, WV beginning with a reception on Friday, Nov. 2 from 5 – 7 p.m. and continuing through Sunday, Nov. 4 to honor the memory of Susan Ford Pritchard and her work on behalf of art and artists in Jefferson County. The public is invited to attend. Proceeds from the sale will go to the Pritchard family to help defray medical expenses. So excited to be a part of this show! This is the first time I've entered, and it sold! Yay!!! I'll play again at the next show in the Spring!!! Perfect setting for an art display - fabulous surroundings, many, many talented artists!!! Great turnout for a fabulous show AND book signing by Rip Smith! The exhibit will continue throughout the month of October. We are open Wed-Sun 12-5 pm. Located in Charles Town on N. George St - across from the Courthouse. |
